Custom Industrial Cyclones

Pierce Steel manufactures cyclones that use the principle of inertia and centrifugal forces to collect and remove particulate matter from flue gases. These air pollution control cyclones can be used for several industries including cement plants, sawmills, steel mills, mining, pulp and paper processing, petroleum coke plants, engineered wood products, metallurgical plants and other types of facilities that process dust.  Our cyclone separators and dry scrubbers are beneficial because they are not expensive to install or maintain, they take up very little floor space and they have no moving parts. This keeps maintenance and operating costs low.

Longer Lasting

Our cyclones are designed and built with longevity in mind. These robust cyclones can be made in virtually any size and have a multitude of material options to meet your specific environment. Cyclone construction materials are generally determined by the abrasive and corrosive properties of the dust and gas. Operating temperature, pressure, wind loading, and seismic conditions also must be considered. Material options include:

  • Long lasting and economical carbon steel
  • Stainless steel or another specialty corrosive resistant material for harsh environments
  • Abrasive Resistant (AR) steel wear plates to protect inlets and bodies from excessive wear

Our systems offer several other options for precisely tailoring your system to your desired requirements.  Those custom selections include:

  • Replaceable Wear Plates
  • Refractory and Ceramic Lining
  • Pressure Relief Devices
  • Clean Outs and Access Doors
  • Structural Steel Supports
  • Collection Hoppers
  • Scroll Outlets
  • Weather Caps
  • Dust Receivers
  • Feeder Valves
  • Manifolding for Connecting Multiple Cyclones
  • Miscellaneous Connecting Ductwork
